MASD Open 2024
January 19th – 21st 2024
We are happy to report that the 2024 MASD Charity Tennis Open turned out to be a big hit! It was a lively weekend with players, supporters and volunteers all giving their all and more.
Through players’ own contribution, sale of MASD merchandise and direct donations, we were able to raise +100 Million VND for our cause. We are beyond excited to make use of this amount at Tu Tam Nhan Ai Social Protection Centre, with the ambition of getting our Vocational Training Centre up and running to full capacity this year!

Introducing Tu Tam Nhan Ai Project

Mr. Nguyen Minh Man opened a social protection center in 2005 named TU TAM NHAN AI located in Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong Province. This initiative includes an orphanage, a place for people with disabilities, the sick and the elderly. Today, Mr. Man and the many volunteers look after 180 vulnerable persons. Taking them in, providing a safe place to live, food and the support for an education for the many children hoping to create new opportunities and to break the poverty cycle.
Reopening of Daycare Centre

On the 19th of May 2020, Ms. Thien – running the daycare centre – confirmed that all children had returned to the daycare centre following the reopening of society post the COVID-19 lockdown in Vietnam. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Ms. Thien’s daycare centre was evidently closed in accordance with the Vietnamese authority’s guidelines instructing stay-at-home measures. Naturally, MASD was unfortunately not in a position to visit the centre nor the children during these times. However, continuous communication with Ms. Thien has been a vital element to ensure support throughout these difficult times, both in terms of reaching out to her, but also as an intermediator to the children and their families.

From Tennis Tournament to Daycare Centre

On the 8th of March 2019, the annual MASD Charity Tennis Open commenced with more than 300 participants, making it the biggest tournament yet for Make A Small Difference (MASD). Having reflected back on the four full days of tennis matches, the MASD team could not be more grateful. Here is why! This tournament was a vital fundraising event to ensure one of MASD’s biggest projects yet – the construction of a new daycare centre. This is a project that has been in the pipeline for the foundation for a long time and has been a key objective to provide 60 children with a safe space to be educated, to play and to grow.
